Vanessa Foster is the Communications & Special Programs Manager at WBEC Greater DMV, where she champions the growth and success of women business owners across the region. Since joining the organization in 2021, she has served in several roles—including Certification Coordinator and Outreach & Retention Specialist—each rooted in her passion for uplifting women and building strong, inclusive communities. In her current role, Vanessa develops and leads strategic programs that empower female entrepreneurs while driving effective communication across the WBEC network.

Before her time at WBEC Greater DMV, Vanessa built a career centered on helping others. At the U.S. Department of State, she supported the well-being of federal employees’ families during overseas assignments, and she later worked with a nonprofit dedicated to securing housing and healthcare for individuals experiencing homelessness. Vanessa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Certificate in Media and Communications from the University of Maryland. Her lifelong dedication to service and empowerment continues to fuel her contributions to the WBEC mission.
