WBEC Metro NY and Greater DMV is proud to announce the launch of our Powerplay Pitch Competition!
The Powerplay Pitch Competition was created to highlight and celebrate our local Women’s Business Enterprises (WBEs), giving them opportunities to increase their visibility within both local and national networks. Participants will have access to educational sessions designed to refine their business pitches, gain meaningful exposure, and compete for a coveted spot in the WBENC National Competitions. There, they’ll have the opportunity to vie for a grand cash prize to further invest in their businesses while building lasting connections.
This year's competition will culminate with live in person pitch finals in BOTH New York City and Washington, D.C. - Keep an eye on this page for more details!

The Powerplay Pitch Competition is more than an event—it’s an opportunity for you to promote business, build valuable connections, and gain exposure.
Want to be a finalist in this year’s competition?
- Complete the Application
Submit your pitch application based on the region where your business is headquartered—either Metro NY or Greater DMV. - Submit a Video Pitch
Upload a one-minute video pitch answering the question, “What is your company’s message?” Focus on delivering your story creatively and compellingly.
Metro NY and Greater DMV corporate partners will review and score all submissions. From each region, the Top 10 pitches will be selected to compete live and in person in August!

After the Powerplay Pitch Competition:
The top four finalists from each regional competition will advance to the WBENC National live virtual Semi-Final competition, where they’ll compete against WBEs from across the country for a spot in the National Finals, where a grand prize of $25,000 is up for grabs!
2026 PITCH ACADEMY
Whether or not you participate in the Powerplay Pitch Competition, one of a WBE’s most important skills is the ability to deliver a strong, memorable business pitch. Our multi-session Pitch Academy provides access to several workshops designed to refine your message, improve your delivery, and grow your confidence as a speaker.
Workshops will be available April - July 2026. Additional details coming soon.
