Expert Guidance: The SAGE Advice Program
Presented by WBEC Metro NY & Greater DMV in partnership with Capital One
SAGE Advice is a dynamic, hands-on program designed to help women-owned small businesses grow and thrive. Developed through a strategic partnership between Capital One and WBEC Metro NY & Greater DMV, the program offers customized learning experiences led by successful women entrepreneurs and Capital One associates.
Participants will:
- Explore strategies to identify ideal target markets and customers
- Gain deeper insights into business financials for smarter decision-making
- Learn how to effectively market their business and highlight its unique value
- Dive into key topics such as ESG/Sustainability and HR dynamics
- Build valuable connections and sharpen negotiation skills
- And much more—all designed to empower and elevate your business
Participant Commitments
If accepted into the program, participants must:
- Attend and actively engage in all in-person sessions
- Submit a one-time program fee of $150
- Participate in monthly one-on-one meetings with a Capital One Business Resource Partner (BRP)
- Complete occasional assignments between sessions
Note: Participation in SAGE Advice does not guarantee business or contracting opportunities with Capital One. The program is focused on education, development, and growth.
Am I Right for SAGE Advice?
The SAGE Advice program is intended for Certified WBEs throughout the WBEC Metro NY and Greater DMV RPOs, who are seeking guidance, support, and community from a network of likeminded WBEs and business experts from diverse backgrounds.
Participants must have completed at least three years in business and have a 3-year average revenue of between $500K-$2.0M.
Program Structure
SAGE Advice runs in 4-month cohorts throughout the year:
- DMV Cohort: January–April 2026
- NY Cohort: September–December 2026
Each cohort meets in person at Capital One offices approximately once a month for four two-day sessions.

Greater DMV
Greater DMV Dates 2026
Participants are required to attend all four sessions of the program to graduate. Greater DMV in-person sessions will be located in McLean, VA.
