Title\u00a0III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that every owner, lessor,\u00a0or operator of\u00a0place of public accommodation” provide equal access to users who meet ADA standards\u00a0for disability.\u00a0 An increasing number of courts have been ruling that websites are “places of public accommodation\u201d and that owners and operators of websites are liable for failing to provide equal\u00a0access to them .Website accessibility should be top of mind for all businesses across the United States face lawsuits that cost, on average, more than- $20,000 to settle.<\/p>\n

Yes,\u00a0website ADA compliance is required by law,\u00a0but like stopping at a stop sign or buckling your seatbelt,\u00a0it’s also the\u00a0right and responsible\u00a0 thing to do. It will also increase your reach, expand your market, increase your SEO and improve your brand reputation<\/p>\n

She is a fierce advocate for people with disabilities, especially since her daughter is visually impaired, and has served on numerous boards and committees nationally and locally advocating for people with disabilities.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Kim obtained both a bachelor\u2019s in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a master\u2019s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Northwestern University\u2019s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>A strong proponent of women\u2019s rights and the disability community, she was selected as one of the \u201cWomen Who Mean Business\u201d by the Washington Business Journal in 2014 and received the Mayor\u2019s Washington Women of Excellence Award in Leadership in 2015.
